Secret Japan in the very center of the city👺🥗🍜
Our vote ended in a tie! We'll definitely tell you in detail about the wine festival right after visiting it, and for now we're sharing a cool find - an authentic little Japanese restaurant. It's called "Ramen Jan" and it hides in cozy central courtyards. Inside it's incredibly atmospheric, warm and compact - literally just 3-4 tables.
🍜What about the menu?
You won't find the usual chain-style "Philadelphia" rolls here. People come here for something else:
Traditional ramen with a rich broth and wood ear mushrooms.
Hearty onigiri for a quick snack.
An unusual dessert of fried dough (quite strange, but definitely worth a try!).
🦝The atmosphere
On a big screen they play Japanese films, the staff speaks exclusively English (which adds a light travel vibe), and on the tables lie little books with a favorite Japanese character - the Tanuki. In Japan the tanuki is an iconic mythical shapeshifter resembling a raccoon dog. Unlike the cunning foxes, the tanuki is a good-natured chubby fellow, a lover of good food and the main symbol of luck and prosperity in business.
A very pleasant, friendly atmosphere.
📍 Where to look: City center, in the Mashtots area
