Jermuk. Art gallery.

As we already wrote in the last post, our chosen sanatorium has a very advantageous location. So we'll keep writing about our discoveries. Literally a three-minute walk away is an art gallery. It's a bit smaller than the gallery in Dilijan (which I also highly recommend visiting).
Across three floors there's a wonderful exposition of Armenian artists, mostly of the 20th century. Many of the works are reminiscent in style of Martiros Saryan. There's everything here: bright, lively socialist realism, mysterious surrealism, and stunning landscapes. A ticket with a guide cost us about 5,000 dram for the three of us. The hour flew by completely unnoticed - we had an enormous amount of fun!

A few canvases caught my eye on which Komitas is immediately recognizable - a man with a complex, tragic, but incredibly interesting fate, who means so much to Armenia. I'm leaving one of these paintings here.
