Sevan. Navigation (for the channel, not the lake)
Barev, everyone!
We have accumulated quite a few posts about trips to Sevan, so it is time for a navigation post.
A quick note. At Sevan it is always "either cold, or very cold," so for comfortable walks and rest the best time starts in June, when it reaches about 15 C. In July-August you can swim, the water is around 20 C, though we have not been there at that time. There are many nice hotels around Sevan with beautiful lake views.
For our first trip in June 2023 we chose Noy Land. The hotel was excellent: three meals a day, a view, and grounds for walking. The complex offers both hotel rooms and cottages. That time we took a cottage on the shore - it was amazing, though rather expensive. On the second trip we stayed at the Tsovasar hotel - more budget-friendly, and we wrote about it in detail in the post. The view and the food were both great.

A great place with a cafe, hotel, and diving. We went paddleboarding there.
Also, if you go only for one day, you can stop at some tasty places:
🍖 Yasaman
🍖 U Semo (I renamed it, but on the maps it still has the old name)
You can also go to Sevanavank Monastery (9th century). To get onto the monastery grounds you need to climb the steps. You will not regret it - the view of the peninsula is stunning. Yes, not so long ago Sevan was an island, and we will definitely write about that.
Be careful: near the steps people sell candles and say you will not be let into the monastery without them. You will be let in, and you can also buy them at the top from the official dealer.
That is all for now.
