Cultural program: "5 days in Yerevan"

Barev, everyone!

Here is a small plan, already successfully tested, for how to entertain friends during five full days in Yerevan.

  1. Visit the Yerevan Opera Theatre. Ticket prices are very reasonable; good orchestra seats cost 8000-10000 dram. We chose Puccini’s La Boheme; we wrote about our impressions here

  2. Take a trip out of town. We chose Sevan. Sit in U Semo or Yasaman with a lake view and try Sevan whitefish. Yasaman is more atmospheric and refined. U Semo has unique finely shredded potatoes. Both places are top. Prices are quite reasonable for this level.

  3. Visit a museum.
We chose the Martiros Saryan Museum:

  • it was open on Monday
  • a compact two-floor exhibition plus memorial rooms, which mattered to us because we had a one-year-old child with us
  • a chance to recharge with bright colors in the cold spring
  1. Walk along Cascade. Look at the sculptures and the city from the viewpoint

  2. Ponchik-Monchik: eat delicious Gyumri doughnuts in the center; more details

  3. Sherep. Eat traditional Armenian dishes in a good restaurant.

  4. Walk around the center. Northern Avenue, Saryan Street, etc.; stop by Vernissage to browse souvenirs and antiques.

  5. Blue Mosque: go inside the grounds (in summer it is absolutely wonderful), look at the hordes of cats, and take a "the cats have landed" photo.

  6. Arabkir:
👉 Walk along Komitas to the small Prague Park
👉 Eat something tasty at the SAS food court
👉 Look at Willy’s little house next to the SAS store
👉 Walk to Nor Arabkir Park and admire the city view
    👉 Eat delicious shawarma

  7. View of the Hrazdan Gorge from Davtashen Bridge
