Orgov. Events.
In the previous post about the Orgov radio telescope, we ended on a minor note about tourists and souvenirs. The photo shows what could be found there three years ago. Now it is gone.
The timeline in that post ended at “2012 - even measurement attempts stopped.” But activity on this site did not stop. Besides a steady flow of urban-exploration fans and physics/engineering enthusiasts (including us), the location attracted all kinds of informal communities, music fans, conspiracy enthusiasts, and people fascinated by extraterrestrial life.
Events held at the Orgov radio telescope site:
🛸 HAYP gallery exhibition in 2017
🛸 Sensor festival in 2022 - contemporary art with installations and performances
🛸 urbanarmenia started regular excursions to Orgov (their channel)
🛸 Future Space Fest in 2024 - science-pop event.
These are the most notable events we managed to find online with minimal searching. Besides them, semi-legal gatherings happen there too, and there is a constant flow of tourists through the site.
We still need to check what is on our DSLR memory card. There should be photos of the territory and houses where scientists used to live.
