Moscow. Capybar Bar.
Hi everyone!
A cool place opened in Moscow last year - Capybar Bar. In summer they were based near Park Kultury; now they moved to Taganskaya. It is a contact zoo with 7 capybaras, several nutrias, and rabbits (in summer there were only 2 capys).
The animals are cared for by zookeepers, and they also tell engaging stories about the animals’ daily life. The team has a branch in Saint Petersburg too. According to them, all animals were bought out from meat farms, including capybaras, which are heavily consumed in South America.
The new branch also has a fierce creature - basically a mix of bear, cat, wolverine, and Tasmanian devil. Tailed and very funny. We were told these animals are eaten in some regions too. Session format: 30 minutes, 1500 RUB, group up to 10 people.
We went as a whole family again and got our dose of capybara calm and peace. It is hard not to take a selfie with a capy. Definitely recommended.
