Hrazdan. A Non-Tourist City.
Near the museum we wrote about in the previous post, there is Charles Aznavour Park. The benches painted in Armenian flag colors are from there. Nothing extraordinary, but it is a nice place for a walk with a good city view.
The other two photos are from the railway station. This is exactly where the city “pearl” is strung on the crooked railway thread. It makes sense that this point is very close to the city’s central square. That is where we picked up the phrase: “Absolutely non-tourist Hrazdan.”
Here is how it happened. We were thinking about a trip souvenir and, as a half-joke, suggested finding a T-shirt saying “I ❤️ Hrazdan.” We entered a small shop near the park and asked two guys around 30 if they had such souvenirs. The response was very emotional, as if we had deeply offended them: “No, we don’t sell that here. Hrazdan is not a tourist city!” Even though they were business owners.
