Kaliningrad. Impressions
Speaking about the funny side of our Kaliningrad trip, we should not miss the trip itself. It was genuinely interesting: in 5 days we covered the "chocolate box" set of places - the Curonian Spit, a walk along the Baltic shore (windy but truly atmospheric), the Amber Museum, and the Dancing Forest, which really feels fairy-tale-like, as if you were a character in Hoffmann’s modern-era stories.
We visited the oceanology museum. By chance, we got into Kaliningrad Cathedral for a Gunnar Idenstam concert - an unbelievable stroke of luck. In 2021, stars still came there. He is an absolutely stunning Swedish organist-improviser. The concert included not only classical pieces but also improvisations on famous rock songs.
We took a city tour with a funny guide woman - yes, straight out of those same Hoffmann tales. Summary: we caught the full vibe. Photos attached.
